so good i had to copy the entire article (from yahoo!)
LONDON - Keith Richards has acknowledged consuming a raft of illegal substances in his time, but this may top them all. In comments published Tuesday, the 63-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist said he had snorted his father's ashes mixed with cocaine.
"The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," Richards was quoted as saying by British music magazine NME.
"He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn't have cared," he said. "... It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."
Richards' father, Bert, died in 2002, at 84.
Richards, one of rock's legendary wild men, told the magazine that his survival was the result of luck, and advised young musicians against trying to emulate him.
"I did it because that was the way I did it. Now people think it's a way of life," he was quoted as saying.
"I've no pretensions about immortality," he added. "I'm the same as everyone ... just kind of lucky.
"I was No. 1 on the `who's likely to die' list for 10 years. I mean, I was really disappointed when I fell off the list," Richards said.

$100 billion in ONE YEAR vs. $21 billion over FIVE YEARS.
here's the kicker...
Rep. Peter King, R-New York., the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee, said the report validated his opposition to the bill.
"This bill was rushed to the floor without the Democratic leadership giving us any indication of its massive cost -- and now we know why," King said in a written statement. "Had we known [the cost] before the bill was brought to the floor, it would have been a different story."
i think that pretty much speaks for itself. if you've got something to add, comment on it, or tell good ole petey himself at Pete.King@mail.house.gov

"What message does Congress intend to give?" asked White House spokesman Tony Snow. "And who does it think the audience is? Is the audience merely the president? Is it the voting American public or, in an age of instant communication, is it also al-Qaida?"
--Tony Snow commenting on a Senate resolution to oppose Bush's Iraq plan
new dog, old tricks... whaddya expect from an ex-fox news guy? (and no, they don't deserve capitalization)... now i know the few of you who read this - and i do mean few - have MySpace accounts (owned by the news corporation, hence fox and quintessentially evil cyberland baron rupert murdoch)...
speaking for myself, i just can't reconcile the fun of "popularity" with supporting (however transitively) an unjust and illegal war (or any war, for that matter)... having old friends contact you is great, i guess, but there's got to be another way with less untoothy undertones...
